Buellton tasting rooms: Industrial Way, Highway 246 and Santa Rosa Road
The SB Wine List team ·
Buellton sits where Highway 246 crosses Highway 101, between Solvang and the Sta. Rita Hills. We list 25 wine producers with a Buellton address, and 22 of them take visitors. They are not on one street. They fall into four areas, so it helps to plan by area.
Industrial Way: seven rooms at one address
Seven tasting rooms share 140 Industrial Way, just south of Highway 246 and west of Highway 101. Hours are as each place posts them:
- Tierra y Vino: Thursday to Monday 11am–5pm. Walk-ins welcome.
- Kalyra Winery: Monday and Friday 12pm–5pm, Saturday and Sunday 11am–5pm. Walk-ins welcome.
- Buscador Winery & Tasting Room: Friday to Monday 12pm–5pm. Walk-ins welcome.
- Tomi Cellars: Thursday to Monday 11:30am–5:30pm. A reservation is recommended.
- Imagine Wine: Thursday to Monday 12pm–5pm. A reservation is recommended.
- Amber Rose Wines: Friday to Sunday 11am–4pm.
- Esfuerzo Wines: Friday to Sunday 12pm–5pm, and Wednesday 4pm–8pm.
A few hundred metres away on the same street, Margerum Wine Company and the Central Coast Group Project take visitors by reservation.
Highway 246
Four more sit on the highway itself:
- Ken Brown Wines: Thursday to Monday 11am–4pm. Walk-ins welcome. About 400 metres from 140 Industrial Way in a straight line.
- Hitching Post Wines, east of Highway 101: Wednesday to Sunday 11:30am–5pm, last tasting 4:15pm. Walk-ins welcome.
- Brick Barn Wine Estate, west of town: walk-ins welcome. From June to November it posts daily hours of 11am–7pm; from December to May, 11am–6pm Monday and Tuesday and 11am–7pm the rest of the week.
- Pence Vineyards & Winery, further west: Wednesday to Monday 10am–4pm, closed Tuesday. A reservation is required.
Los Padres Way and Easy Street
North of Highway 246, by Highway 101, four producers open by booking: MarBeso, Section Wines, Dragonette Cellars and Sapien Wine. All four require a reservation, and we do not hold regular hours for any of them.
Santa Rosa Road
South and west of town, Santa Rosa Road leads into the Sta. Rita Hills:
- Vega Vineyard & Farm: daily, to 8pm on Friday and Saturday. A reservation is recommended.
- Lavender Oak Vineyard: by reservation.
- Alma Rosa Winery & Vineyards, the estate: daily 10am–4pm. A reservation is recommended; walk-ins are welcome.
- Peake Ranch: daily 11am–5pm. A reservation is recommended.
- Lafond Winery & Vineyards: Thursday to Sunday 11am–4pm. Walk-ins welcome.
The last three are inside the Sta. Rita Hills AVA by address, about five to seven kilometres from Industrial Way.
Walk-ins, weekdays and evenings
Seven of the 22 say walk-ins are welcome, the ones marked above. Eight require a reservation, five recommend one, and two do not say. The walk-ins welcome in Buellton page keeps the list current.
Thirteen post hours we can read day by day. All 13 open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Ten open on Monday and ten on Thursday, six on Wednesday, and three on Tuesday: Vega, Alma Rosa and Peake Ranch, all on Santa Rosa Road. Brick Barn posts seasonal hours, so it is not in these counts, but its hours cover every day of the week.
For a late visit, Vega stays open to 8pm on Friday and Saturday, Esfuerzo to 8pm on Wednesday, and Brick Barn to 7pm most days. See open after 5pm in Buellton.
What a tasting costs
Eleven Buellton places post a tasting price. The lowest is $15 at Kalyra and the highest starting price is $60 at Pence. Six of the 11 start at $25 or less. Buscador, Tomi and Ken Brown say the fee is waived with a wine purchase, each on its own terms.
What they pour
Of the 22, twelve list Pinot Noir, twelve Syrah, eleven Chardonnay and nine Grenache. Five do not list their grapes with us yet.
On our map, 19 of the addresses fall in the Santa Ynez Valley AVA and three, all on Santa Rosa Road, in the Sta. Rita Hills. By what they pour, nine are tied to the Sta. Rita Hills, three to the Santa Maria Valley, two each to Alisos Canyon, Ballard Canyon and Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara, and one to the Los Olivos District. Ask in the room which bottles come from where.
Plan it
- Start on the [Buellton town page](/towns/buellton), with the map and every listing's hours.
- Bringing a dog? Five places say dogs are welcome: Brick Barn, Hitching Post, Kalyra, Peake Ranch and Vega. See dog-friendly in Buellton.
- Build the day in [My day](/my-day). Pick the date, and the planner shows each stop's hours for that day. Its ready-made "Sta. Rita Hills loop" starts in Buellton and runs out Santa Rosa Road; our Sta. Rita Hills guide covers it, and one day across the Santa Ynez Valley adds Solvang, Santa Ynez and Los Olivos.
A note on these numbers
We counted on October 13, 2026, from the 25 approved Buellton listings we hold, each checked against the winery's own website. Three producers that say they have no tasting room open to the public are left out. Weekday counts use only hours we can read day by day. Distances are straight-line, from our map coordinates. Hours, prices and walk-in policies are as each place posts them.
