About SB Wine List
We fell in love with a place.
This is the story of how years of wandering Santa Barbara wine country turned into the guide we always wished we had.
It began with curiosity
For years we have explored the wines of Santa Barbara County. One weekend led to the next. We followed the valleys west to where the ocean fog rolls in, and east to where the hills turn warm and golden. We tasted what we had never heard of, asked questions, and kept going back.
Then it became something more
Somewhere along the way it stopped being a pastime. We had fallen for the place: the quiet roads, the old oaks, the light late in the afternoon. And for the people, pouring wines they made with their own hands and talking about them the way you talk about something you love. That is what stayed with us.
So we built what we wished we had
Every visit took a little detective work. Who is open today? Do we need a reservation? What is just down the road, and what is on this weekend? The answers were scattered across a hundred websites. We wanted one beautiful place that held it all, so anyone could step into wine country and feel what we felt. That is SB Wine List.
We were so taken with this place that we wanted everyone to be able to feel it.

Our promise
When you love a place, you want to get it right. The people behind these wines have given years to their craft, so we tell their story truthfully.
Facts first.
AVA dates and boundaries come from federal regulations. Winery details come from the winery's own website, and each listing shows where and when we checked.
Blank beats wrong.
If we cannot confirm a detail, we leave it out rather than guess.
Our own words.
We write our own descriptions from the facts and never copy a winery's text. A photo or logo on a listing is that winery's own, shown only on its own page and credited to it.
Closures are marked, not erased.
When a tasting room closes, its page says so.
Where the facts come from
- AVA names, dates and rules: the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), 27 CFR part 9, and the final rules published in the Federal Register.
- AVA boundaries on the map: the UC Davis Library AVA Project.
- Winery addresses, hours, reservations and grapes: each winery's own website.
See something wrong?
Hours change and tasting rooms move. If a listing is out of date, tell us and we will check it against the source and fix it.
