Of the 198 places we list that take visitors, 43 say on their own websites that dogs are welcome. Four say no pets, with service animals only. For the other 151 we do not yet know, so their listings make no claim either way.

Here are the 43, town by town. Hours change, and so do pet policies, so check the listing (and the winery) on the day.

Rules differ from place to place

"Dogs welcome" is where the policy starts, not where it ends. Places that welcome dogs can still limit them to a patio or lawn, ask for a leash, or keep certain days or events dog-free. We do not hold those details on our listings, so ask when you book or check the winery's own site before you bring yours.

Los Olivos (14)

• Evan's Ranch Tasting Room, Los Olivos: daily 12pm–5pm, last tasting 4:30pm.
• Koehler Wine Estate, Los Olivos: daily 10am–5pm.
• Kaena at The Ranch, Solvang: daily 11am–5pm, last tasting starts 4:30pm.
• Sanger Wines, Solvang: Tuesday to Thursday 12pm–7pm, Friday to Monday 11:30am–9:30pm.
• Jamie Slone Wines, Santa Barbara: Sunday to Thursday 12pm–6pm, Friday 12pm–7pm, Saturday 11am–7pm.

Brick Barn Wine Estate in Buellton also takes walk-ins and posts hours for every day of the week, with closing times that change by season, so check its listing for the current ones.
